From bottled drinks to unique sparkler holders, we used red, white and blue in unexpected ways and classic American tunes to get guests in the spirit.
A traditional patriotic color scheme makes the tablescape more festive, and a mixture of disposable tableware and pieces from home more inviting. Blue-rimmed paper plates make cleanup easier and personalized party pails (look at those chalkboard tags!) keep them from blowing away. Woven placemats add a rustic flair to the red and white striped tablecloth. Picnic flatware is a nice alternative to plastic and serves as a weight for star-spangled napkins. When entertaining outdoors, flyaways are inevitable!
There’s nothing more American than apple pie. We updated the classic dessert with a Sweet Land of Liberty topper inspired by “My Country, ‘Tis of Thee” song lyrics. Just tape the print-out onto two lollipop sticks and insert into pie for a more festive look.
Wondering what to do with sparklers? We created a holder for them by adding sand to the base of a glass jar and labeling it with more patriotic song lyrics. The result? A sparkler centerpiece that doubles as an extinguisher when lit. Our personalized red tin party pails include DIY “Star-Spangled Confetti Poppers” and pinwheels to keep kids entertained.
Display plastic light-up rings on a star-shaped platter for favors that double as decor. Our clever “Let Freedom Ring” accessories are the perfect patriotic statement piece once the sun goes down!
Whether it’s a block party or picnic, these patriotic decor tips will help you create a more memorable American soiree. Don’t forget to try our red, white and blue berry water recipe, which is a perfect refresher for the occasion.
