Go the extra yard at your Home Bowl bash by making this DIY football field table cover, brought to you by Evite in partnership with Coca-Cola® and NABISCO.
Time: 1 hour
Level of Difficulty: Medium
- Dining or buffet table
- Artificial turf (available at home improvement stores)
- Sharp heavy-duty scissors
- Utility knife
- White duct tape (available at home improvement or hardware stores)
- Measuring tape
- Black marker
- White felt adhesive numbers (available at craft stores or online)
Step 1: Lay your artificial turf over your table and trim the edges.
Step 2: Use a utility knife to score a roll of white duct tape down the middle to create thinner strips of tape. Make sure to be careful when using a utility knife.
Step 3: Measure your table to find the halfway point and apply a thin piece of duct tape to the artificial turf to create the 50-yard line. (On a standard 6-foot table, the middle of your table will be at the 36-inch mark.)
Step 4: Measure from the 50-yard line to one end of the table and divide into 5 equal parts, marking with a black marker as you go. Repeat on the other side. (If your table is six feet, your marks will be at approximately 7 1/4 inches, 14 1/2 inches, 21 3/4 inches, 29 inches, 36 inches, 43 1/4 inches, 50 1/2 inches, 57 3/4 inches and 65 inches; 72 inches is the end of the table.)
Step 5: Apply 4 pieces of thin duct tape on either side of your 50-yard line to mark your remaining yard lines.
Tip: Use the measuring tape as a guide to ensure the lines are straight.
Step 6: Apply adhesive numbers to mark your yard lines (the yard lines should read 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10).
