DIY arrows work in a variety of ways for many celebrations including Valentines’s Day and birthday parties! Put a few in a vase and use as a centerpiece, wrap a Valentine’s gift and place an arrow as a decoration on top, or use them to decorate place settings at a romantic dinner for two.
Materials:
- 12-inch wood dowels
- Paint
- Foam brushes
- Painter’s tape
- Colored paper
- Scissors
- Double-sided tape
Step 1: Using painter’s tape, tape off where you would like spaces between your colors.
Step 2: Paint wooden dowel desired colors, making sure to use a separate foam brush for each color. Allow paint to dry for at least 1 hour, then remove tape.
Step 3: Cut two identical triangle pieces and two identical “fletching” (feather) pieces out of your paper.
Step 4: Use double-sided tape to affix “fletching” to the end of your dowel.
Step 5: Make diagonal cuts on either side of your dowel to create a feather effect.
Step 6: Cut off excess paper to make a cleaner “fletching” shape.
Step 7: Use double-sided tape to affix bottom of arrow head.
Step 8: Use double-sided tape to affix top part of your arrow head, and your arrow is complete!
