Serves 4




  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup Hershey’s special dark chocolate cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 2 cups half and half
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 ounces brandy
  • 1/2 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • Whipped cream

    Whisk together the water, cocoa, and salt over low heat in a medium saucepan until well combined.

    Turn up the heat to low/medium and stir in the milk, half and half and sugar. Stir constantly to help the sugar to dissolve, about 2-3 minutes. Bring up to a scald, but do not boil.

    Turn off the heat and stir in the vanilla.

    Rim your mugs with graham cracker crumbs, then top the cocoa with fresh whipped cream and toasted mini marshmallows. Marshmallows can be toasted on a baking sheet under the broiler for 30 seconds or until lightly toasted.
