Sandra Lee Everything's Coming Up Roses Party

Yield: 24 cookies

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 large egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 1 tablespoon water

  • 1

Print messages on 24 small strips of paper.

  • 2

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Lightly coat a nonstick baking sheet with cooking spray.

  • 3

In a small bowl, sift together flour, cornstarch and sugar. In a medium bowl, whisk together egg whites, vanilla, oil and water until smooth. Add flour mixture to egg mixture and blend together until batter is smooth.

  • 4

Working in batches of 4, drop batter by tablespoonfuls onto baking sheet and tilt it in a circular motion to spread batter into 4-inch rounds.

  • 5

Bake for 10 minutes, or until edges of cookies are golden brown. Remove from oven and, working quickly, use a spatula to remove the cookies from baking sheet. Place the fortune in the center of a cookie and fold the cookie in half into a half-moon. Bring points of half-moon together with seam running on the outside. Place into a muffin tin to help keep shape while cooling.

  • 6

    Repeat with remaining batter.
