Christmas tree cupcakes are a fun DIY for the holiday season! Serve these tiered trees at a Christmas baking bash, office potluck or kids’ holiday party.

Evite Christmas Tree Cupcakes by Sandra Lee

Ingredients

  • 2 containers vanilla frosting
  • Green food-coloring paste
  • 9 mini vanilla cupcakes
  • 9 green spice drops
  • 9 standard vanilla cupcakes
  • 3 jumbo vanilla cupcakes
  • 9 small candy star decorations

Directions

    Tint the vanilla frosting green with food coloring. Spoon some of it into a pastry bag fitted with a small star tip (cover remaining frosting with plastic wrap to prevent drying).

    Pipe a small dot of frosting on top of a mini cupcake. Place a green spice drop on top.

    Level the tops of remaining cupcakes to make them flat. For the 3 large trees, place a standard cupcake atop a jumbo one and a mini cupcake on top of that. Secure using a dot of frosting in between each. For the 3 medium trees, place a mini cupcake atop a standard, securing with a dot of frosting. For the mini trees, use a mini cupcake.

    Starting at the outside edge of the bottom cake, pipe a long dot of green frosting, pulling out and away from the cupcake to make the pine branches. Continue piping, always pulling frosting away to cover the tops of each cupcake. Cover the spice drop with frosting, too, and place a red candy star on top.
