Its sparkling, celebratory nature makes Champagne a shoo-in for any special soiree, but you needn’t settle for standard flutes of typical liquid gold. Champagne cocktails will up the glam factor of the evening exponentially, and with a few decorative touches, be ready for their close-ups just like your guests.

Two original concoctions and one fantastic classic make up our cocktail menu below, but we’ll never tell if you decide to take credit for all.

The Marilyn

Fill a champagne glass with chilled Champagne until 2/3 full. Add a splash of peach schnapps and a dash of chilled cranberry juice for a rosy hue. Stir. To add an elegant twist, serve alongside a pink rose petal topped with a sugar cube so guests can choose to sweeten their blushing beverages.


The Audrey

Line the rim of a champagne flute by dipping in a shallow saucer of simple syrup, shaking gently, and then dipping in a saucer sprinkled with sugar. Fill glass with chilled bubbly until 2/3 full. Add a splash (1 tablespoon) of freshly squeezed grapefruit juice and a dash (1 teaspoon) of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Stir. Thread a raspberry onto a toothpick and balance prettily atop the glass.


The Liz (aka a Kir Royale)

Fill a champagne glass with a splash of Chambord (or crème de cassis). Add chilled Champagne until glass is 3/4 full. Drop a blackberry inside the glass for a striking concoction fit for a drama queen. Serve at once.

Tip: Your favorite sparkling wine may be used in any of the cocktails above. Prosecco will infuse the drink with a fruitier taste, but Cava works well, too.
