Evite contributor Ricky Webster shares his tips on how to make the best roasted pumpkin seeds. Serve them as a Thanksgiving hors d’oeuvre or package them in clear cellophane bags and give them to party guests for a fun fall treat! Roasted Pumpkin Seeds

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cups fresh pumpkin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Pour olive oil and butter in the bottom of a 9-by-13-inch pan and place in oven for about 5 minutes. Clean and dry pumpkin seeds and add seeds to pan. Add remaining ingredients and mix. Bake, stirring every 15 minutes, for about 45 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool thoroughly, then store in an airtight container or tightly closed cellophane or plastic bags.
