We look forward to summer celebrations every year, but this season, there’s an extra level of excitement given how long we’ve been apart from our friends and loved ones. With the pandemic in retreat and the weather warming up, these are 5 of the classic summer parties we can’t wait to throw in person.

Check local CDC guidelines and practice caution until everyone in your group is fully vaccinated.

Fourth of July

The defining holiday of the summer, obviously. We could not be more ready for hot dogs on the grill, fireworks in the sky, and red, white, and blue everything. Give your friends and neighbors something to look forward to by sending out a digital Save the Date for your backyard 4th bash now.

In-Person Game Nights

Virtual game nights were fine for a while, but there’s something irreplaceable about a group of friends crowded around the coffee table, shouting charades guesses, and rolling real dice. And with the kids out of school for the summer, the whole family can stay up late playing. Get inspired for upcoming game nights with our Top 10 Party Games, or browse new games on Amazon.

Tailgate Parties

Baseball is back! Whether you’re a diehard fan or just in it for the peanuts and cracker jacks, sharing America’s pastime with friends in person is quintessentially summer. Opening Day is April 1, which gives you plenty of time to get into the *swing* of things by summer. Check out our Tailgate Party Guide here.

Summer Weddings

Whether weddings were postponed from last year or newly scheduled in 2020, we can’t wait to tear up watching our friends say their vows, cut the cake, and dance the cha-cha slide together in one space – no virtual link required.

Make-Up Birthdays

Remember in elementary school when all the kids with summer birthdays got to pick a date for a “make-up” party? This is going to be like that, but so much better. Re-do your 2020 virtual birthday the way you would’ve wanted, and if you missed a significant milestone, make sure your friends and family know you’re expecting extra birthday spirit.

Got your first in-person celebration in mind? Get started on it now by sending a digital invitation with one of our festive summer templates.
