Dinner may be done, but that doesn’t mean the party has to be. Set up an after-dinner coffee bar complete with freshly brewed coffee and a post-party treat to encourage guest to sit down and stay awhile. Watch the video below to get the how-to, brought to you by Evite in partnership with Dunkin’ Donuts® Bakery Series.
Transform a basic bar cart into a chic coffee bar by including at least two kinds of coffee (we chose Dunkin’ Donuts® Chocolate Glazed Donut and Dunkin’ Donuts® Vanilla Cupcake flavors) to give guests options. You don’t have to go all out to make your coffee cart look stylish. Just set out drink stirrers and dessert napkins and you’re ready to sit back, relax and start sipping. If you want to go the extra step beyond serving something to eat and drink, add a vase of fresh flowers for an instant pop of color.
Get creative by purchasing plain white stackable mugs, then use a dry erase pen to write guests’ names and help keep track of the cups. You can even use the pens to label the coffee carafes as well as each kind of creamer and sugar. Since everyone drinks their coffee differently, provide at least 3 options of each. In addition to milk or half-and-half, offer a dairy-free alternative for guests who may have special dietary restrictions or allergies (think almond or soy milk). For guests who prefer to sip something sweet, set out sugar bowls. Go beyond basic cane sugar by giving guests different options, like raw sugar, sugar cubes and stevia.
Don’t forget about the dessert! After all, what goes better with coffee? Stack a sweet treat on top of a cake stand. We picked up donut holes from the grocery store — they’re great for dunking into coffee at the end of the evening — but you can also opt for cupcakes or cookies. Include an assortment of flavors so guests can pair their post-party snack with their coffee.
