To give a grad a little boost on their road to the real world, create a graduation party note table just for guests to leave messages of congratulations and advice. We show you how we did it for our “The World Is Your Market” graduation party we created with help from Panera catering, though it’s a natural fit with any graduation party theme.

For our grad’s note table, we interspersed school-oriented decor elements such as a globe and chalkboards with potted plants. You can include a framed photo montage of your grad to personalize (and remind everyone how quickly time flies).

Bring in a botanical touch with pens that look like a bouquet of roses: Simply attach a faux flower stem to a pen by winding floral tape around it, hot-glue the bloom to the end, and display in a vase. Just be sure to leave one out with a sheet of note paper so guests realize they’re not real!
A worldly party decoration that looks amazing but is easy to make: Spray-paint a globe with chalkboard spray paint (just cover the hardware first), then write instructions for guests on the surface with a Chalk Ink marker.
Echo the black-and-white chalkboard decor with a black-and-white photo timeline of the grad. Printing all the photos in black and white gives the montage a cohesive, classy look.
Provide a basket of supplies including note cards, twine, and scissors for guests’ congratulatory notes.
Hand-written congrats and well wishes send the grad off in style.
Set out a large clear glass vase or jar to make the notes part of the party’s decor. Let guests know to roll their messages up like a diploma and tie them with twine by filling the vase with a few notes of your own before the party.
