To create her Valentine’s Day designs, Carla used a selection of polishes in our Radiant Orchid color palette, a nail-art pen, glitter, and clear tape.
First, Carla added a clear base coat to Tracy’s shaped, unpolished, manicured nails.
Next, Carla brushed two coats of dark purple polish on nine of Tracy’s nails; on Tracy’s remaining pinky nail, Carla used a deep shade of pink polish.
Once the polish was dry, Carla covered half the nail on Tracy’s ring finger with clear tape, pressing firmly. She then brushed the exposed half with a lighter shade of purple.
Once the polish was dry, Carla used the nail-art pen to draw the shape of half a heart on the dark half on Tracy’s nail.
With the dark purple polish, Carla completed the heart shape on the opposite half so the colors contrasted.
To finish, Carla added a touch of sparkle by dotting the heart shape with pink glitter after the polish dried.
On Tracy’s pink-painted pinky nail, Carla added dots to create a polka-dot heart shape using different colors of polish.
A clear top coat is added to all, and voila! Happy Valentine’s Day nails!
