1. The Floral Centerpiece
Yes, flowers are still the most popular type of centerpiece for entertaining, but the styles are getting more and more creative. We pieced this lovely runner of blooms together right on the table, forgoing the usual vessel full of water.
Bonus Floral Idea
Classic floral arrangements make an even bigger impact when grouped together on the table.
2. The Photo Centerpiece
Lining up framed photographs of the guest of honor makes a swift and simple centerpiece for the table that instantly personalizes a party. We recommend Walgreens Photo Printing to print photos.
Bonus Photo Idea
Photos can also be used to personalize a table runner. We used Elmer’s Craft Bond Glue Spots to affix family photos directly to the fabric, but you can also arrange photos on a long length of kraft paper and lay the paper across your runner or tablecloth. We recommend Walgreens Photo Printing to print photos.
3. The Fruit Centerpiece
Fruit’s not just for eating — it can also be used as a decor element. Pieces (and in this case, bunches) of fresh fruit placed under glass or gathered in a bowl makes a lovely centerpiece for a dinner or holiday party.
Bonus Fruit Idea
Want to customize a purchased floral display? Fruit is good for that, too! We placed a florist-created centerpiece inside a larger vessel and then lined the space between with slices of citrus.
4. The Candy Centerpiece
Candy comes in such a variety of colors, shapes and sizes, it naturally lends itself to being a decor element. Here, a line-up of apothecary jars filled with different types of dulce makes a bright statement centerpiece at a kids’ birthday party.
Bonus Candy Idea
Candy can also be used to accent other types of centerpieces. Here we put a clear vase of flowers into a larger vase and filled the space between them with jelly beans for a sweet look perfect for a bridal shower, baby shower, or a spring celebration.
5. The Candle Centerpiece
The clean, romantic look of candles encased in clear glass votives is utterly classic, and a collection of different heights placed on a neutral table runner works for all manner of occasions.
Bonus Candle Idea
Clear candy boxes decorated with washi tape elevate plain candles to new levels and add a cheerful look.
