Celebrate this spooky Halloween season by planning a fun and funky bone-chillin’ bash for all your friends. For something slightly less traditional, trade classic Halloween colors for a bright and bold color palette featuring greens and purples. Get the scoop on how to plan a party just like this one with these tips and free printables, brought to you by Evite in partnership with NABISCO and SOUR PATCH KIDS.
Bone-Chillin’ Bash Invitation
First, start inviting guests to your Halloween party by sending the free coordinating Evite invitation below.
Bone-Chillin’ Bash Décor
Set up a food and drinks table center stage so guests can mix and mingle while they snack. Start by framing this printable welcome sign at one end of your table to welcome guests to your bone-chillin’ bash. You can also enlarge the poster on cardstock or poster board to hang on a wall or in a doorway so guests see it when they first arrive. Stick to the color scheme by picking out purple and green décor pieces and utensils. Don’t forget to encourage guests to come in costume; we suggest coming as a skeleton or a zombie!
If you’re planning a bone-chillin’ bash, then skeletons are a staple. For a statement centerpiece, purchase a skeleton at a specialty Halloween store then break out the bow tie for a fun finishing touch. Guests won’t be able to stop talking about it.
You don’t have to spend a ton to have a ton of fun. For easy — and affordable — party décor, hang this printable Halloween banner behind your food and drinks table. To make your printable banner, download and cut out the banner on a piece of plain 8.5 x 11″ cardstock, then fold and tape the tabs on the back to a piece of plain black ribbon. Use a piece of tape to secure the ribbon to a wall or doorway.
Stay on theme and add an extra spooky element by setting out special accent pieces that bring your bone-chillin’ bash to life, like skeleton straws and skulls. To make the skulls stand out, spray paint some of them silver and arrange them around the table.
Bone-Chillin’ Bash Food
Start by serving something savory and snack-sized! These Smoky Chipotle-Turkey Toppers come complete with slices of smoked turkey, soft cheese, spinach and chipotle peppers. The best part? They’re easy to grab and go, meaning more time for mingling. Set these printable food tent cards to the side of the serving dish so guests know what they’re about to eat. All you have to do is print it on a piece of cardstock, fold it and place it next to your dish. We’ve even included some blank recipe tent cards so you can write in your own fun recipe creations while sticking with your theme.
End the evening on a sweet note by baking this SOUR PATCH KIDS Graveyard Cake. Featuring two kinds of chocolate and sweet-and-sour candies, it’s sure to satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth. Don’t forget to include the coordinating printable recipe tent card.
Bone-Chillin’ Bash Drinks
Go all out for guests by serving a specialty drink. This one is even easier than it looks — simply mix grape soda and vanilla ice cream for a sweet soda float. Bonus points if you serve it in a skull cup.
Give store-bought soda a spooky spin by attaching these printable bottle labels. Just print and cut them out, then glue or tape them front and center on the bottle. What could be better than brain juice and bone broth at a bone chillin’ bash?
Bone-Chillin’ Bash Activity
A photo booth is always fun — especially at a Halloween party so guests can show off their costumes. To create your own custom photo booth backdrop, hang a solid-colored piece of paper against an empty wall, then download these printable photo props and get guests ready to strike a pose. For even more fun, bring in extra props from the party, like the bow tie-wearing skeleton. You can share the photos on social media with #GhostessParty, on your Evite invitation or even print them out and send them home with guests.
For photo props, all you need are scissors, 1/4″ wooden dowels (available at craft stores) and a hot glue gun. After downloading the printable photo props, print them on cardstock, cut them out, then glue them onto the wooden dowels. Make sure the dowel is placed correctly on each prop. Set up a side table next to your photo booth to hold your props (we recommend putting your props in a white jar to bring out the green and purple in the printables).
Bone-Chillin’ Bash Party Favors
Before you say goodbye to guests, send them home with a little something sweet as a thank-you. Purchase paper treat bags in coordinating colors, attach the printable favor tag, then fill the goody bag with your favorite kinds of candy (we recommend SOUR PATCH KIDS).
