Got stacks on stacks of gifts to wrap? Don’t go it alone. Take the chore out of holiday gift wrapping by throwing some friends and vino into the mix with a wine and wrap party like this one.
Wine and wrap parties (or “wrap and yap” if you want to stay in the spirit but skip the alcohol) are all about multitasking: Gather the essentials for a productive and fun evening of gift wrapping, wine sipping and chit-chatting. Start by setting up your very own Santa’s workshop in a room with plenty of space for your fellow elves to spread out their gifts and wrapping supplies. Clear a flat, solid surface, like your dining table — or just choose a spot on the floor where there’s ample area to wrap gifts big and small.
Keep spirits bright throughout the night by bringing out a bottle or two of bubbly in addition to red and white wine. Be sure to have nonalcoholic beverages on hand as well — we love a fruity sparkling lemonade, but you can also set out sparkling cider or seltzer and cranberry juice for a seasonal sip. Set up your drinks station on a separate table away from the wrapping commotion so gifts stay dry.
You and your friends will be hard at work wrapping all evening, so make it easy on yourself by serving drinks in disposable cups — no dirty dishes to wash at the end of the party! You can even customize them with festive decorations, like the colorful felt circles and patterned paper straws shown here.
Stock up on all the wrap-athon necessities: wrapping paper, scissors, tape, ribbon, bows, personalized gift tags and more. However, ask your friends to bring their own supplies to share as well, so there’s no wait list for the scissors and you and your guests can mix and match to give each gift its own look.
For the finishing touch, attach our free printable gift tags and personalize them with the names of your loved ones.
